Malin Parmar heads a research group focused on developmental and regenerative neurobiology at Lund University in Sweden. The ultimate goal of her research is to develop cell therapy for Parkinson’s disease. At this year’s Hydra summer school I spoke to Malin about how she got started in stem cell research, what she’s working on at the moment, and her view of the prospects for treating Parkinson’s disease with stem cells. Malin Parmar, PhD. New York Stem Cell Foundation - Robertson Investigator.

Björklund, Linda Gillberg, Eliza Joodmardi, Rickard Sandberg, Malin Parmar, and Thomas My group works with translational stem cell biology. The focus of my research is to understand cell fate specification in the developing brain and in human neural progenitor cells using cell-based models of neuronal differentiation. Our current focus is to learn how to direct and efficiently drive controlled differentiation of human stem cells into Malin Parmar heads a research group focused on developmental and regenerative neurobiology at Lund University in Sweden.
